what would he have done in the fight game if he supposedly hadnt laid down for graziano in one of their fights? was he championship quality?

NO, Harold Green was a neighbor and acquaintance of mine. He was a hell of a fighter in his day. I saw him against Graziano a few times, and when he was a prelim fighter, before that time.Did he lay down to Rocky ? He
claimed so after Graziano passed away. But he was not the best middleweight those very competitive days. To illustrate...I and my dad saw Harold Green a day or two after Marcel Cerdan kod Greem at MSG.
Green claimed that after their first clinch in the first round, Cerdan was much too strong for him. Next round proved it...
P.S. Harold Green's best win that i saw ringside was when Green Kod
young Joey Giardello with a left hook in the 6th round. Flattened Giardello
like a pancake... Today Green would fight as a jr. middleweight, and make
    a lot of moolah....

I have the green graziano fight and it was certainly wierd. It definately looks suspicious considering how much trouble he gave Graziano the first two times around.

Green was a good clubfighter/contender. I dont think he was championship caliber.
