[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z8K9nRuUfYo[/ame] highlight vid of him!! so how good was he in his day? and where does he stand on all time lists? He has a huge resume, and if he was around today i can imagine him being the money maker in the sport!!
He was brilliant & charasmatic, hated by plenty though, if he was around today he'd make Mayweather look a tame chicken with regard too going though the motions with the press & in the ring. I'd have loved to have seen a 24/7 with Hector & Floyd as it would have been a scream. Camacho did'nt give a flying **** & he's have torn into Floyd big time with the insults & verballs, if yer think Floyds obnoxious he pales in comparison too Hector as far as public tirides & abuse on camera. I think Camacho would be in Pac's position right now if he'd been around today. He had it all, but was fighting in a very very tough era. There's no way Floyd could have handled Camacho & it would have def been a case of avoidence in the extream.
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jKRl-QwE7oE[/ame] One thing Camacho never lack and I wish todays fighters were more like him was calling out fighters with no problems. Larry Merchant seems to enjoy these bad boys Camacho love him or hate him change boxing in a more entertaining way. Should I add hes never been KO, drugs and his overconfidence truly ruin this guy.
i always knew naz was a replica of homeboy but watching that reel was more than enough! Even the leopard style trunks! lmao @ the music!
Dude was hittin the blow and going through bitches like crazy. The 80's was a terrible era for entertainers/sports stars!
Camacho was an excellent fighter at his best. Decent pop, amazing speed, good skills, very fluid. A weakness of his in the ring was that he had a tendency to go into a defensive shell when he got hit clean. His mind seemed to often be on lasting the distance rather than winning the fight. He also squandered a lot of his potential with the drugs and partying. If he were around today? I don't see much difference, he does well for awhile before his lifestyle catches up with him.
where does he reside nowadays? Still in NY or PR? I remember, i kid you not, saw him and a bunch of latin kings at the Terror Squad show in the BX. This was around 98 ish.
Camacho was a good fighter, but talked too much! He had good speed, fast feet and was always super confident. He made me laugh alot, but he didn't carry much power. Rosario was killing him, Chavez destroyed him, he had alot of talent, but blew it all away. He would have done good in todays boxing, but he wasn't an all-time great.
