Everyone made good points here. Ike was a headcase. He heard voices, had incidences in airports, planes, etc. Might of had a belt 2day. would of luv 2 c him against both Klitschkos. Wlad could outbox him but could he deal with Ikes pressure and tire out from him. Vitali would b the 1 i favor 2 beat him.
IBEABUCHI WAS GOOD.............BUT HE NEVER FOUGHT A BIG TALL MAN....TUA IS 5 FOOT 9........CHRIS BYRD IS 6 FOOT 1 AND A BULKED UP MIDDLEWEIGHT........SO HE REMAINS A ????????:smoke:smoke:smoke:smoke.....................BUT ILL SAY THIS HE WOULD HAVE KNOCKED OUT WLADIMIR KLIT........MAYBE NOT VITALI.....BUT IKE WOULD HAVE MADE WLAD HIS *****.........WLAD DOESNT REACT WELL TO GETTING HIT.
He may get overrated but we all forget that he was still developing. It was a mistake to put a young prospect like Ike in with David Tua. If I was managing a young fighter I would steer clear of Tua. I think that in a few years he could have had the smarts and the skill to rule the division up until about now where he would be too old to beat the Klits. His career ended with a questin mark at the time when he demolished Chris Byrd in five rounds. He was still developing and the sky was the limit for him.
I'll add that by the time he would have risen to title contention, he would have caught a past prime Lewis. I would've expected that his title reign would have lasted from like 2002 to about now or next year. He would have had for about six or seven years.
Ike was good to be sure however the the answer lies somewhere within your question. His psyche would have let him down when he got to the top level. The mental aspect of the game is huge and Ike didn't have a grip on it. You need to have the total package to dominate. I sure do miss him though.
