Sorry if this has been done to death - but ive never seen him and his record looks pretty good plus he was undefeated before prison. Anyone see him what could he have achieved?
He could've captured a belt though he never had the mentality to be able to defend it successfully for long, but that's just my opinion. I also think the war he had with Tua knocked a couple of screws loose that led to his increasingly bizarre, erratic behavior following it. While I think he routinely gets overrated on here, I also think he was a good heavyweight- excellent conditioning, chin, toughness, and a pretty good puncher on top of it.
He looked like the genuine article but I think Lewis would have beat him. He certainly would have put up a better fight than what Michael Grant did.
Ibeabuchi was the last great hope at heavyweight in my opinion. A big version of Evander Holyfield. He wasnt a loose cannon in the ring but he sure was out of it. He was pretty green but in 20 fights he accomplished a lot. He was ready to fight any of the belt holders after defeating Byrd.
Would have done much better against Lewis than poor Michael Grant did. Very good, strong heavyweight.
Please explain, because Lewis was having great fights at Heavyweight while this guy was sitting in jail.
He would have stopped Lewis. He was as good as Holyfield but bigger, stronger and better. Great fight mentality.
Ike was a bit of beast... Pretty decent boxer Great work-rate Great stamina Great chin Good Power Aggresive style Fearless attitude Ripped at 240lbs He was still more or less untested... but sure looked like the next big thing that night he put Byrd on ***** St. with the big uppercut/hook! Bam!
Had good physical tools but the mentality of a 10 year old. He would've been outclassed by intelligent fighters like Lewis and the Klitschkos.
