Ruskull you have to look at facts man. The fact is Emmanuel and Lennox avoided this guy at all costs. What fighter did Lennox EVER avoid? seriously.
Lewis avoided Ruiz & Byrd for financial reasons. When a fighter gets closer to the end of their career they tend to only want the big money fights & Ike wasn't a big money fight, not on the level of Lewis vs. Tyson.
He had potential to be a great heavyweight... very good power, speed, combos, a jab, inside fighting, durability, everything was there.
All true. The one glaring weakness would be ring intelligence. Why would you brawl with a brawler when you possess the skills to beat them without taking so much punishment?
It's called a DEMONSTRATION. After that fight, the network knew that Ike could take a punch from one of the best punchers in the division, win in offensive exchanges, and look good doing it. Following that fight, The Klit, and every other HW knew that Ike was a force to be reckoned with. No Doubt the fight was the very marketing plan one could have hoped for.
That style is not good for longevity, although it is fan friendly. Just ask Lamon Brewster...............
It worked as expected. Following that fight, EVERYONE knew without a doubt, that Ike Iabucchi was the real deal and was headed directly to a world championship. Had Ike not fukked up with King and the Russian mob, he would have destroyed both Klits and IMHO, captured and UNIFIED the heavyweight division. If Tua couldn't hurt Ike, no way either of the Klit girls could, not even Vitali contrary to what other posters would like to convince themselves they believe. That version of Vitali would have suffered a TKO lost to Ike Iabucchi. It's in the styles and level of skill set son. That one fight alone between Tua & Iabucchi eclipsed any fight either Klit girl has been involved in all of both of their careers. :yep
