I know next to nothing about Wilson except for the fact that he was a middleweight champion and lost said title to Harry Greb. What were his strengths and weakness as a fighter and where does he rank among the all time middleweights? Please tell me everything you know

He was a plodding, but rugged southpaw known for his powerful body attack. He apparently had Mike O'Dowd's (a very underrated MW champ IMO) number, but could never quite cope w/ the speed & workrate of Greb, & Flowers completely overwhelmed him w/ handspeed for 1 of the few stoppage losses of his career (although Wilson would always maintain that he was never really in trouble & the ref had overreacted to Flowers' cuffing/slapping flurries). During Wilson's reign, title recognition was briefly divided between himself & Bryan Downey following a controversial fight in which Downey was DQ'd w/ Wilson on the cusp of a KO defeat. A rematch between the 2 was supposed to settle matters, but they disappointingly waltzed through a dull no-decision instead.

IIRC, Wilson also openly boasted off being mob-connected, although I can't remember the details or how it might've played a role in his career off-hand.
