How good would you guys say Marcel Cerdan was . I know he was forced to retire due to a shoulder injury against La Motta and died before the re-match . How would you say he compares to the all time great MW's

Cerdan was probably a little past his prime when he hit the States, maybe just outside the top 10 at 160lbs.

apparently the Haye Wlad fight is being held up by Haye's refusal to the rematch clause of Hayes plane being forced to refuel and crash killing him before he arrives.

Cerdan in my opinion is one of the most under rated and least mentioned of the all time greats.

Watch him on film sometime. He's a bulldog type with a great chin, and lots of power. But he is also gifted on defense, with a high guard and good athleticism

Cerdan died in a plane crash on his way to re-match LaMotta. Although Jake won the first fight, his take down which injured Cerdan's should had a lot to due with the result.
