How good was Mark Breland in the grand scheme of things?

He was highly manufactured as a pro. They got him the fights for vacant titles against guys who were not household names in their own households, and scoured the earth for easy defenses, such as Pineda, who I think was a ranked lightweight at the time, and Honeyghan, who was the classic past-his-best guy you get. I watched the Aaron Davis fight that more or less finished him, and Davis was a completely unheralded guy who just hung in there and out-toughed him despite some terrible damage done to his eye.

Brilliant jab and clean skills, but too frail for the pros.
