    One of our guys fought Cornell Hines as an amateur at the Palmer Park (SRL) boxing gym. I don't remember who his trainer was then. We were just talking yesterday about how Hines fought at MSG recently.

    Mark "Too Sharp" Johnson was a terrific fighter and is fully worthy in regards to his induction into the International Boxing Hall of Fame.

    He was brilliant.

    At fly he managed to miss out on Saen Sor Ploenchit, Miguel Martinez, Jose Bonilla, and most of all, Yuri Arbachakov.

    That's criminal.

    I believe that Mark "Too Sharp" Johnson was willing to fight anyone in his weight division. But flyweights weren't popular in the United States when an American flyweight such as Johnson was active. As a result, Johnson never became a substantial gate attraction, which may have resulted in promoters not being interested in staging bouts between Johnson and some other top flyweights.
