No no no no. Spence would have hurt Keith to the body so badly he wouldn't last 5 rounds. Keith never took bodyshots well and Spence is murderous to the body. That is just crazy talk.
Pacman not only beat him up but he took something from him, Thurman didnt show his face in the ring for over 2 years after that fight. They say he was injured but who knows. He had a good winning streak up to that fight though. Maybe he shouldent have made Pacman mad by talking all that mess. He said hes making a comback after that Barrios win so you never know..
Keith Thurman loves to talk then gone. His inactivity in the ring continues. No more talks Keith. Your time in boxing is coming to an end soon.
If prime active healthy flute playing Keithy aka Zen Keithy detonated on the power punching allergic mandibles of the current champs at 147 he would've parked their asses so hard on the canvas the ref would've had to moonlight as a traffic warden. That's what I'm talking about.
I'm gonna assume you are being sarcastic. Keith's KO % at Welter is abysmal. He is a decent puncher and hurt some fighters no doubt but certainly would put no fear in Crawford or Spence. He would get stopped by both imo.
IMO he was a stop gap fighter that held down the fort between two separate eras of great WWs. Sorta like how Zab Judah and Corey Spinks (both were the last 2 undisputed WW champs) held it down for a moment in between the Tito/Oscar/Mosley era and Floyd/PAC/Cotto era. Thurman was there to separate the Floyd/PAC/Cotto era from the Spence/Crawford era.. I wouldn’t say he’s elite but very good. If he was elite he would have beaten Pac that night..
Better than DSG and a little better than Porter. The version that beat Garcia(and Thurman decisively won that fight, regardless of the scorecards) and Porter would’ve been a very tough nights work for Spence.
Thurmans been hurt to the body literally in almost every one of his last 8-10 fights.. Errol would have punished him and that’s why he never truly wanted that fight..
He couldnt even flatten skinny little Robert Guerrero. Actually towards the end Guerrero started bringing the pain to Thurman.
