I was reading in an old Boxing News report that Woodhall was very fortunate to get the decision against Catley, I havent seen this fight, but would love to get a copy of it.
He was fortunate and said exactly that in the post fight interview. Sat side by side with Catley he stated on camera that he thought Glenn deserved the win.
boxing has tens of thousands of Good/Very Good fighters, Ritchie was one of them... capable and on his best day who knows? But not in the realm of the Great/GREATS!!!
Cheers Ed, there is a great photo in Boxing News of Woodhall looking very dejected, like he knew he lost.
very good amatuer, went pro stayed in the same jab and circle. his heart wasn't really in the pro game, but he was able to become a solid wbc champion and gave a ton of fighters real good arguments. technical brilliant just lacked devil and variety at the top league....believe you me.
Hit his peak against Branco in which he looked really good. But then injured his arm/elbow/shoulder and was never the same again...
