I loved watching Hatton, all action style that he maybe over achieved with. Only lost to the cream of the crop (before his comeback) no disgrace in that. World class - certainly Absolute Elite - Just short.
he had quite a long career i thought. too much of it was spent building up the record. when he stepped up to top class he'd had nearly 40 fights.
Very good but was a bit overrated before Floyd and Pac fight which showed he is class bellow, after that losses he is just were he should be.
this totally 100% if you werent elite you were getting beat up! Hell he nearly beat sechenko when shot to ****
He was a real divisional champion in an era of mere title holders. Decent resume with a couple of wins over pound-for-pound elites. Not a great fighter by any stretch, but certainly formidable in his prime.
Ricky's greatest achievement was doing so much with so little. It's astonishing how he got to where he did but that's not to say he wasn't without skill. Before Kostya, Ricky actually had a jab. It's true. And everyone from 135 to 147 wanted to fight him.He was the real draw for a while and that was remarkable. Flawed but great for the sport.Respect due.
Interesting what-if is what Hatton would have been capable of if he'd actually behaved like a professional athlete in taking care of his body.
One of the better fighters of recent time, prime hatton would beat pretty much everyone around at the moment apart from Pac and Floyd.
Glass Jawed overhyped Brit. Came to America and got that Chin Shattered in brutal and embarrassing fashion and should have lost to Collazo who wasn't any good either. The Hatton-Tszyu fight was one of the most disgraceful I have ever seen Hatton was allowed to clinch, wrestle, grab, hold, the whole fight. He would have been disqualified anywhere else but the UK.
