So you really think you'd have decent chances against Joe Louis? :D :D :D

Eddie Futch picked three men as the best heavies of all time, in no order.
Johnson,Ali,Louis. He sparred with Louis and trained two men to beat Ali,he also trained Bowe and Frazier.

"Johnny_B, post: 20599584, member: 122336"]I never claimed I'd beat Ali, I said my speed is very good and close to that of the fastest HW's, that's an entirely different thing.
And btw, Patterson and Tyson match or even exceed Ali's hand speed.

That is irrelevant. Just cause someone is a pro, does not mean he punches harder.

The fact that I never turned pro does not mean I never trained like one, they aren't mutually exclusive in case you didn't know.[/QUOTE]
It does mean you never fought a pro for real though. I used to drink with an old guy whose son was a very decent flyweight amateur,he was convinced his boy would beat the **** out of Charlie Magri, having been ringside for several of Magri's fights and seen his son in training and competition,I knew there was no comparison. No offence to your ability as an amateur, but the gap between the two is very wide, as it is between the also ran pros and the top guys, and the also rans against "civilians".

You can only become good with pro experience you learn on the job, no way could you evade the amount of hooks Frazier would have thrown at you, size isn`t everything, plus guys like Frazier had great gass tanks and fought at a higher pace than modern heavies, no way does AJ have the gsa tank to go 15 rounds with Joe the way Ali did and Ali had a better chin than AJ and you.

What do modern boxers do that the oldder generation didn`t in the ring? Ortiz has good skills and Usyk is by far the most skilled heavy in the world aside from them the rest look pretty basic, Fury is only good defensively, he out-boxed and out-punched Wilder simply because Wildder has no craft and is nowhere near as skiled as Frazier or Louis were.

Frazier had a sensational heart as well, he never stopped peeling himself off the floor, ready to fight again.

That's not AJ by any means (watch the end of the first Ruiz fight).

No offense to AJ fans, he could be fun to watch at times.

Bowe was very talented but also lazy and flawed .. his chin was never great, period .. he was flattened multiple times as an amateur and as stated was never matched p against the best heavyweight punchers .. Futch himself supposedly refused the Lewis fight because he felt Lewis was too strong and would over power Bowe .. Interestingly Holyfield openly says he feels Bowe was the best he fought and he fopuight them all ..

The first time he fought Bowe probably was the best fighter he ever fought. It's well documented Rock Newman gave Lewis a ridiculously awful offer to fight Bowe after the Holyfield fight (a fight the pre-Steward Lewis would have lost imo) and Lewis righteously refused it, leading to one of the most terrible managerial **** ups in boxing history...throwing the WBC belt away.

Interestingly, Lewis was offered a BIG amount of money to fight Bowe after the Holy III massacre, and Lewis turned it down. At that point Lewis would have beat Bowe imo...and any time after that as well. The Bowe who fought Golota would have been creamed by Lewis as well.

He chose them due to their achievements, not as H2H favorites.

Yank Durham refused to allow the rookie Ron Lyle to spar with Frazier because he said,"he would hurt you," so he put him in with Norton instead .I'd expect both the green pro versions of Lyle and Norton to beat up an amateur heavyweight.
