If he did he never said so .Therefore that's just interpretive speculation on your part.

Louis would decapitate you, and so would his sparring partners.

Louis would decapitate you, and so would his sparring partners. You wouldn't be able to hold your own with the likes of Johnny Paychek and I say that with no malice intended.

You wouldn't, that's the point. Do you know how many punchers did Louis face in his long career? He was stopped only once in anything close to his prime, against a boxer who was without any doubts better, more skilled and more experienced than you.

Louis fought bigger and stronger men than you who were also more experienced. It didn't matter.

So their power must have been diminished because they were not top ten ranked?

A few, but none had Liston/Foreman type power.

Schmeling wasn't that skilled. And I can punch harder. All I need is one clean punch and he's down for the count.

    They were skilless oafs.

He didn't face any modern punchers, so they don't count.

    You don't have either.
I bet Schmeling would school your ass, he was outstanding boxer. You wouldn't land on him at all and even if you would, he took punches from Louis and Baer who were much more powerful than you can dream of.

They didn't demonstrated their power against elite opposition. So I don't see how they can be considered punchers at the top level.
