It obviously wasn't as good as Corrales vs Castillo I, or Morales vs Barrera I, but was it on par with Gatti-Ward I, better, or not as good?
we cant have gatti-wards or castillo-corrales when you have these backyard yokel refs that panic when he sees world class leather being landed and shuts the fight down..... 2 undefeated guys, back and fourth dog fight, let one of them hit the canvas at least once for ****s sake.....
Like one of the Commentators said and I agree with, It was a Great Fight... but The Ref May have robbed us of an EPIC fight.
I felt there was more skilled invloved on Rios' part than Ward displyed against Gatti, and I felt Gatti displyed more skill than Alvarado. The fights were a little different, but I honeslty was on the edge of my seat more often for this fight than the Ward-Gatti I fight, but the Ward-Gatti fight seemed more brutal because of the complete disregard for defense in the second half of the fight.
Very very good, a great war, but no Salido vs Lopez 2. Salido vs Lopez 2 fight of the year so far, unbelievable fight!!!
Salido Lopez was A bit more technical and jhanma took a beating for like 4 rounds but Its a toss up which is better.
If Rios's chin was slightly worse... then it could have turned into a Gatti Ward & was 12 rounds. + too much inside work. Abit more mid range slugging. But anyhow it was what I expected so no dissapointment. Knew it would not be a Gatti Ward fight.
