I'm talking about Quartey-De La Hoya, one of my personal favorites. I thought it was a tremendous fight between two great welterweights and had great action. It was technically beautifully and the 6th and 12th round were 2 of my favorite rounds to watch. I have this fight on DVD and usually watch it at least once a month if not more. But I think this fight is very underrated as far as great fights go because I never hear it mentioned when people bring up threads about great fights. So I'd like to see your opinion on the fight and what you guys think of it.
It had two great rounds, and a lot of drama towards the end. Overall, outside of those two rounds, it was a pretty good boxing match, but those rounds made the fight. I wouldn't say it was a great fight though.
DLH-Mosley I was also a "tremendous" fight that is usually underrated. That was toe to toe action at elite P4P level for 12 rounds!
Most of the fight was tactical without much action and too much posing. The 6th round was great, and the 12th was exciting. One of those suspenseful fights that keeps you very interested when it happens but usually doesn't have much replay value due to the lack of action.
The 12th round was the best of the fight, other than that they didn't engage as much. Both had respect for one another.
Exactly. Oscar-Quartey was a decent fight, but doesn't have nearly the replay value of Oscar-Mosley I.
I preferred Oscar's combos to to Ike's one punch at a time style, but Oscar won the fight with a big 12th round, IMO.
Yeah like I said it was close, and even though I had Quartey winning, I could have seen Oscar winning as well.
