If you're going by his record, he has some remarkable wins on there (Walcott twice, Olin, Brouillard, etc.), however, I have also read that he was a bit of a Wildman with haymakers and punches from the floor and left field. I have a good article on him somewhere from one of the old International Boxing magazines that led one to believe the loss to Bettina for the vacant 175 title (possibly NY recognition) was strictly due to having been recently shot and recovering from the wound. I don't know. Wish there was some film on him.
