Its saddens me how you won't take six minutes of your time and watch the rist round of Tucker and then the first round of Douglas.

It saddens me that you didn't realise i had. I watched the entire Douglas fight again and 2 rounds of Tucker hence why i went into lengthy explanations as to one part of the reason Tyson wasn't getting off early against Douglas whilst he was more effective against Tucker.

Back to back, 1st round, the difference in energy expenditure and tactics is more obvious.

James Douglas was a good contender when he wanted to be and yes he pulled off just about the biggest upset in history. Not sure I think he was anything tremendous though

LOL, Douglas never ever made a serious attempt to re match Tyson after he laid down against Holyfield.......the money would have been there......the demand would have been there and it would have been a huge success in terms of a event but Buster decides to eat himself into a coma.....pre or post prison it would have been huge......and when he got his second chance according to Finkel to face a shot washed up Tyson he pretty much got ko'ed and claimed foul by career club fighter Louis Monaco and blitzed by cannon fodder Saverese

There is nothing "slanted" Tysons way here, Douglas never ever put himself into ANY serious contention again after Tokyo......see above, he could not even hold it together against journeyman for another pay day against a shot Tyson. Dem are the facts.

As a matter of fact, current Jones Tyson ko's current Douglas no matter how good busters training camp is/was in a regular not exhibition fight

Did that too. As i said for me one part of it was an off kilter Tyson and the other was Douglas. If i was still into time consuming clips i'd do some.

Why would Douglas chase Tyson? He'd already put a whooping on him and received countless dollars for doing it as well as the insane amount he got for Holyfield. The guy had nothing to prove and didn't need the bux.

Douglas is more than 6 years older than Tyson so i'd hope Mike would beat him. He's a very old man.

LOL, log off, he did chase Tyson, fact, except Saverese put a definite stop to it.......so all over sudden he had something to proof ?.......and he mouthed off again after Tyson/Jones.

Tyson IS the cash cow, Holyfield and Lewis NEEDED him to make career high pay days because both of them were not even in the same zipcode as far as marketing /making a event is concerned.

Douglas made chump change for the Tokyo upset, cashed out against Holyfield while laying down quickly...............and one more time, never ever got himself even remotely into top ten contention

    He said she said...
You wrote "Douglas was the full package." Someone else said Douglas had better feet than Biggs too. And if I look even further I might find more of that, beside the simple bashing of Tony Tucker as a much lower fighter than Douglas. I brought up that its a comparison between two fighters with different abilities. Douglas wasn´t ahead at everthing, its simply not true. Tucker was taller, lighter and (also for the reason beeing lighter) better on his feet. I believe a important requirement for a save bet against Tyson is a solid chin.
Regarding stamina, he in fact looked better fighting Tyson than he did against Tucker. If we take power and simply boxing abilities, we might see Douglas better than Tucker. I also believe that Douglas was a real good package that night, his jab imho is extremely underrated in general. He was very solid at putting two to three punch combinations together as well. But I simply can´t take someone as "the full package" if he was as easy to hurt as it happened to Douglas numerous of times, especially as a HW.

Talking about stamina, did someone compare Tysons punch output fighting Douglas with his previous or later bouts?
Did compubox webpage change, is the data still free via sign-in?

About Douglas chasing Tyson: Didn´t he comeback in 95 for another payday??

Yes he certainly did.................Monaco torpedoed it and Saverese sank it............but for some reason Johnny refuses to acknowledge it.

Douglas was never the full package, ever, once upon a time he boxed pretty well when all stars aligned with him and his opponent was on a self destructing misalignment tour, Douglas was the right man at the right time ONE time against a fighter who was going off the rails.

If he was so confident that he could replicate it he would have fought him again but he knew that he could not win a re match...... a smart move......better to claim I beat the baddest man on the planet once then getting flattend in a rematch while everybody will be saying he just beat Tyson on a bad day in the office and tyson set it straight again

The Buster Holyfield met is the true Buster, thats his level, same as quitting against Tucker.

Buster Douglas and Corrie sanders are the definition of a flash in the pan, they only struck lightning once and did jack after.

And Tyson still almost beat him with a single punch

It's blatantly obvious you are still salty over Douglas creaming Tyson. You have been since you've been here.

But yes Tyson was the cash cow. He still is.

Why would I be salty over a fighter who never out a dime in my pocket ?? I saw the fight live while you were still playing with Legos and Krayons, I stated facts and I could not care less if you agree or not

Corrie Sanders gave Vitali a rough fight after beating Wlad and had no quit in him.
