Morrison is more likely to go down, more likely to get up and more likely to fight back

It's sad really, the way he went out...he deserved better. Much better. He was so full of life, such a zest for it...and the way he ultimately bowed out seems like a horrid injustice. I hope he's found a peace elsewhere that he never found on this mortal plane.

    It's more splitting hairs really

Morrison holds the best win between the two over Foreman

Briggs holds the only other legit win over a rated fighter between the two by beating Liakovich, who was at his peak.

Briggs got a controversial win over an old Foreman. Morrison got a controversial win over an old Ruddock.

Briggs hurt Lewis early, then took a beating. Morrison was destroyed by Lewis.

Briggs got a lackluster draw against Botha. Morrison got a lackluster draw against Purrity.

Briggs got embarrassed by Marion Wilson and Sedrick Fields. Morrison got embarrassed by Michael Bent.

Briggs lost to McCline. Morrison lost to Mercer.

Briggs lost at an advanced age to Vitali and Ibragimov. Morrison would get his ass kicked by Vitali and probably loses to Ibragimov on his best night.

They both knocked out some washed up names and have tons of knockouts.

Same sh it, except Briggs' chin is much better. It's not a betting man's fight.

A good B fighter who self destructed his partying womanizing ways ruined him. His denying of HIV cost him his life.

He was good enough to be top 10 ring magazine ranked in a very talented time line. He is one of the best left hook of all time!, very fast hands, and some skills. His defense was average his chin suspect, and work ethic was bad. Still wins over Ruddock and Foreman , a gutsy performance vs Joe Hipp, and wins over older former contenders such a Carl Williams and Pinklon Thomas proves something.

He would have liked beaten Ray Mercer on points if he trained hard for the fight, he didn't. He gassed as early as round four and was brutally taken out. Just when he signed with Don King and King's men generally get good fights and favorable treatment he tested positive for AIDS and that halted his carer. He probably had the virus way before which makes some of his performances even more impressive.

Morrison and his team really made a terrible mistake in the Mercer fight by having Morrison go out there and throw everything he had trying to get a ko.

He was an incredible talent and one of the most exciting fighters of his era.

He would simply blast out his opponents with fast crisp combinations that shocked the crowd and onlookers. He would throw left hooks that felled people as if they had been hit with a cinder block. Truly a force to be reckoned with-but only for about 4-6 rounds.

His training discipline was horrible, he partied, boozed and sexed it up every chance he got. This was the complete reverse of his well spoken, witty and intelligent interviews.

He was sick for much the latter part of his career with aids. He was a shell of himself the night he faced Lewis. The fact that he fought so long and so successfully while a disease ate away his body is a feat in itself that has begun to look better with age.

His stamina was trash most of his career, his chin suspect, and defense not the best - but the man had heart. He would keep going even when exhausted. even so, with that legendary left hook he was always dangerous. Hipp, Ruddock and Foreman are huge wins and he deserves mention as one of the greatest what if's we have seen in boxing history.

    The Duke is missed.

He was skilled , real power and speed but had an average chin ... he did have a lot of heart and got off the canvas numerous times to win .. he also partied way too much ... sure he did PED's but pretty much all did in that era ..

He was always going to go far, but he was never going to get all the way.

His power and natural talent, was always going to simplify the issue down to the elite of the division.

I am not even sure how much the steroids helped him to be honest.

They didn't make his chin any better.

The problem when you get to the elite of the division, is that you can't put muscled on chins.

So yes he was really very good, but his ultimate level was very clearly set.

He was good but his lack of defense, weak chin, dedication, partying, womanizing and drugs caught up with him in his very brief short boxing career.

He was a good fighter. He was never a top 5 threat to the champion. He had some ability. The steroids probably hurt him as much as it helped him. That extra weight imo got him gassed extremely early. He had no power on his punches after round 4. His mouth was open. It was a huge handicapp.
