    Some Points

1.) He was undefeated until he met a Prime Mike Tyson

2.)Although Mike Tyson and Lennox Lewis beat him they failed to win by KO

3.)Also Lennox faced a very old Tony Tucker (45 years old) in 1993 and it still went the distance

4.) He also TKO'd Buster Douglas in 1987.

He is a incredibly underrated fighter

he's not HOF status but he was definitely a great fighter, very underrated skills. he had a solid jab, good foot movement, and descent power. that uppercut he hit tyson with was just vicious!! lifted him off the ground! as much of a tyson fan i am, that uppercut was just sick.

He was a good fighter and a little underrated, but no way should he make the HOF.If he ever did they would have to make room for a whole lot of fighters that arent in.

Very good fighter, bit of a wasted talent.

    Great win for Iron Mike.

    HOF no way.

Good American-level fighter, not a HOF'er though, the only people that talk like he is anything more than that are those that try to make Tyson's resumé look better than it is.

    Bingo.

He is kind of like Tyson's Corrie Sanders.

    Yeah, but Tyson beat him...

And the thread starter does have a point. Tucker was a versatile, big man, with power.

But Hall of Famer, he is not...

Tucker was an excellent fighter...a bonafide contender. Tucker probably would have been a legitimate contender in any era in history. He would have been a beltholder today, no doubt.

Just for the record, Tucker was 35 years old in 1993.

He was a fine fighter but no. Had the potential but that doesn't count.

Tucker had tremendous boxing skill and suprisingly fast hands for a guy that tended to not watch his weight in his career. He also had an incredible amateur boxing career.

He got royally screwed by Don king and also had a lot of trouble outside the ring. I think if he had the proper dedication and training, without the "issues" outside the ring he could have been a solid long term champ. He did win some rounds against a prime tyson, that accounts for a lot.

One funny detail about Tucker is that he went the distance with Tyson and Lewis but got stopped by Seldon, Hide and Ruiz! :nut
