Technically not great and tended to throw wide looping punches but had a ton of heart and fought angry. Usually entertaining and gave the fans their money's worth.
Not very good at all. A solid chin, a lot of heart, effective power , and pretty good handspeed, but technically he was very flawed. Based on their fights, he was a notch below Greg Haugen in my opinion, which is not impressive at all. He was somewhat like the Gatti of his day, always very entertaining, but a limited fighter who in most cases had pretty good match-making.
I remember when he first came onto the scene. He was fast, brash, tough, and a heart of a lion. I said to myself, "Wow, I would love to see him fight Camacho". It happened and I was there live. What a fight it was. He was good enough to win a title at LW and JMW. He was never in a dull fight. You have to give him extra credit for fighting RJJ at his finest.
Unlimited heart, but very limited talent. Doesn't get enough credit for moving from 135 to 168 and being very successful all the way.
