Obviously he was a great defensive fighter...but when he did get hit ... how do you rate his chin ?

He had a solid chin, he could get dropped but most of the time he recovered really well and took Hearns to the distance at 154, also, the stoppage against Ray was really questionable and that was his only stoppage loss at his prime.

You should see his first fight with Bruce Curry. Untrained Benitez shows his chin, guts, balls and etc

Hard to tell really. Thanks to his father who had no concern for his son at all- Wilfred absorbed puinshment at an extremely young age.
Not only that but he was facing grown MEN when he was still a child still developing.
Its no wonder he was done at such an early age.
But back to your question- I think he had a good chin overall.

I'm going to go against the grain and say average at best.

Guy took right hands from Duran and Palomino, punches from Cervantes and Hope. And was down with true genius boxers like Leonard or Hearns, or being unprepared (Curry). Just remember how many punches past prime Radar took from Mustafa Hamsho in middleweight. Benitez had good chin. Not great, but good enough

I thought he rolled with most of those, or as Terrbile Tim would say, "rubbernecked" them.

I'd rate his chin as decent when he was in shape.

The guy was NEVER Ray Robinson in the chin department - in shape or not. But at the same time, his chin wasn't Terry Norris/Amir Khan bad either.
