Yup lol. The funny thing is, he could have said several other things...

- The one in the bright red trunks (which I think he did say to begin with).
- The one with the shiny head.
- The shorter one.
- The one on the left/right to your screen.

But instead, he goes with "The one who's not that black" <---- (just twisting the words for fun there :good). Buncey cracks me up.

I thought he was good, Buncey was in top form. I liked the way that he was lying back in the chair with his feet up on the set.

Lillis needs to make sure that he doesn't become the Wise to Buncey's Morecambe though.

 

How did we learn about the sport?
In my case watching fights with my father and grandfather, then buying books (mostly stuff by Harry Mullan or Nat Fliescher) and learning the history of the sport from two of the true historians of the sport. Then watching more and more fights, staying up until 4 or 5 am to watch the US fights, the Mexican fights and more recently the Argentinian and Panamanian cards whilst reading up on articles by well schooled writers (Graham Houston, Ian McNeil) and forming my own views and opinions. Then watching older and obscurer fighters to learn about fighters, reading things on forums and learning bit by bit.

I personally don't feel the need to hear Bunce say we only like US fighters who have a "hey baby" trainer and that Syllahk (one example) isn't experienced enough to be moved up quickly, despite Bunce himself saying that he'd put Bellew in with Chad Dawson tomorrow (note-Syllahk has much more experience than Bellew).

It's hard to say Lillis will teach anyone anything as he seems to be getting everything wrong. If we take what he says then we have to forget that Alvarez fought Gomez for a start or that Nishioka has been around a very long time or the Gary Russell was a top amateur...

Some pundits do keep the hardcore fans happy, Mike Carlson (who works for Channel 4 on the NFL) is the perfect example of a really good pundit if you want a boxing example Bob Mee is excellent and I thought Clinton Woods did a great job a few weeks back. Richie Woodhall is a great addition to any studio and Jamie Moore (Sky only) is simply sensational as a pundit. If a pundit stays to what they KNOW then they can't go wrong but what they need to do is stay with what they know, or do a bit of research, it's not hard to ask them to check boxrec for any facts pre-show (i.e. Narvaez fighting out of Argentina).

If you want to spend so much time in the studio (which wasn't their fault, but they could surely have shown some of the under-card from Mexico considering all the early finishes) then they need an anchor (Kerr is amazing at this and by far the best of the Box Nation team), a journo or pundit (either or, not both) and an ex/current pro (again Woods or Woodhall, or Burns Groves/DeGale), it'd be great to get someone in at the weight of the main event but that'd just be a bonus (Burns for the Broner fight would have been great considering the past few months).

If we are up at 4AM we aren't going to be fairweather fans, we are up due to being real fight fans, we don't deserve to have our intelligence offended by a team that don't seem like they can be bothered to do their research before the show.

I'd go with 90+% how many casuals in the UK would have stayed up?...

 

Sadlittleboy you'll see pretty quickly that Jonsey is an absolute '**** who complains without thinking things through, he also has no want to learn about the sport (his own admission) and thinks Zbik is World class, don't mind him.

 

Was there any casuals at all? I bet almost no casuals at all watched it.

 

I think we,ll see what direction Boxnation are going thus weekend with regards to presenters and commentators. The first show after encryption they,ll want to make a big statement.
