By primitive MMA standards, very good. Don't know that either achieves the same status if they start out today, though.
Funny Frank Shamrock was the first MMA fighter I watched and I thought he was damn good. I use to get him somewhat confused with "Ken Shamrock" who I never really liked as much as Frank. I think I only seen one maybe two of his fights but if I recall correctly he had a Matt Hughes type of style.
Well considering Shamrock is way more oldschool, you might rephrase that to say Hughes adopted elements of a Shamrock style. :good
With that ^^^^ said, I liked Bas better then the Shamrock brothers and with that said I liked Ken better then Frank.
Frank was a far superior fighter to Ken. And Bas lost to Ken in Pancrase. If that was MMA Ken would have got his head kicked off. Like i said Bas was THE superior between the fighters in terms of technique and maturity as a mixed martial artist. All Ken was a meathead WWE guy on steroids who had a few leg locks.
I need to see more of Bas but at his peak, Frank Shamrock would have gave utter hell to any MMA fighter that ever lived under 200 lbs (he was 185-190 lbs) Very well rounded & a fantastic athlete.
they were both great fighters back in the day, frank is kinda at a cross roads as we speak i think he needs to give it up he is getting up there in age,i know age dont mean anything but he has lost his skill set alot
