How good would Bellew be at 200lb?

So if he fought at cruiser he would suddenly have better footwork, better timing and overall improved technique ? Yeah, its his weight thats the problem, sure !

 

I think he'll lose to Cleverly and move to cruiser right afterwards.

 

He won't get to 'world class' at either weight is my opinion but could be in some great fights if last nights 'masterclass' was not a sign of things to come

There's just nothing for him at Cruiserweight, where as in the Light Heaveyweight there's a big money spinner vs Cleverly.

 

it depends on what boiling down has done to his body. Would love to see Bellew build up to 190, get some muscle in the arms and neck.

 

I would actually like to see a thicker Bellew at 190 there is easily a stone to put on there you can see his legs are too thin and his just has a more spindly quality than we might prefer. He would look solid at 190ish . It would take 6 months to grow into the weight and put it on properly in the right places but will do him the world of good.

Bellew is a decent boxer but in my opinion his best chances of glory are standing and trading and he will be more comfortable and solid doing that at cruiser.

I'm not moving up and Arnie is entitled to an opinion just like everyone else! With the right prep I do the weight with no problems at all!!

 

I admire Bellew for staying down at 175 and looking for the big fights down there, the Cleverly one will obviously be massive. But eventually I think him moving to cruiserweight is inevitable and adding a bit more bulk plus cruiserweight looking a weak division, he could be a massive threat in the division

 

Slightly off topic but Bellew's been the target of some fairly harsh criticism considering he won the fight by a huge margin. If he'd gone in swinging and got sparked, he'd be getting abuse right now for being reckless. Bomber showed us something else last night, he demonstrated that he can stick to a game plan and that's going to be very important as he moves up in levels. I admit it wasn't the most exciting spectacle but I think McKenzie is equally responsible for that. Tony did what was required to get the win, if anyone needed to change their approach it was Mckenzie and I believe that Tony will strike the right balance in the future. Every boxer in the world has had a boring fight but I don't think this will be Bellews permanent MO.
