How good would fighters like Axel Schulz, Herbie Hide and Zeljko Mavrovic be in this era?

    What do you think? I think they would reach the level of Agit Kabayel and no more than that...

    Schulz had a good chin but little power
    Hide had a lot of power but little chin
    Mavrovic had a lot of chin and he hit hard

    I think Mavrovic would do best

    Has it ever been properly explained what made Mavrovic retire? I thought I heard something about intestinal illness?

    Hide would probably be in the middle to upper top ten. I'm guessing some KO wins over contenders and fringe guys and some drubbings from the top guys

    Schulz would probably suffer from robberies like he did in the 90s, but lose to the top guys

    Mavrovic I'm not sure because I've only seen him vs Lewis. He would probably be in a similar situation to guys like Zhan, Dychko

    He avoided meat, followed a macrobiotic diet, so he looked weak because he lacked muscle mass...

    Thry all fought in a much stronger era.

    Axel is a poor man's Parker. But he still would be TOP10.

    Prime Hide was AJ with a even worse chin, but still would be TOP10.

    Mavrovic is a bigger Babic brawler with better chin and skills. He would be TOP10. (without this weird diet where he lost 1000 pounds and wasn't anymore able to reach his fight weight)

    All would do well and be competitive with the top 5, perhaps Mavrovic or Hyde could pick up a belt for a short reign on the right night.

    Anyone could pick up a belt with the right promotion. Martin had one fall into his lap and almost nobody claimed Martin to be in the top 10 before or after his reign.

    Schulz is a really cool guy, with a cool career, but he was losing rounds to real, genuine journeymen in his prime. He's most remembered for getting robbed vs a 47 year old man and getting beat by Botha.
    I remember that he came in below 200 a few times, as the CW border back then was 190. I doubt he could beat Hughie Fury.

    Herbie Hide is a journeyman who can punch. He never got a top 20 win in his own time, people talking about him "giving good fights to the top 5" are crazy. He was never rated in the top 10 at any point and he would have never been favored over anybody in the top 10 when he did fight.

    I've actually never watched Mavrovic so I'll reserve judgement.

    Mavrovich = Kossobutzkiy or Wallin
    Hide = Dorticos
    Schultz = Kabayel
