How good would Oscar Bonavena be in the 1980s?

Maybe in your delusional mind he does.

Are you really that nuts ?!??
Bowe and Mercer mop the floor with him.
And unless they have mental breakdowns, McCall and Golota beat him too.

LOL.....Prime Tyson would decimate Bonavena in an uncompetitive massacre. Tyson would be landing at will.

He might be able to do something against Mercer. Bowe does wipe the floor with him.

Disagree. If this is mainly about our BF24-Blyatman, then its not snow. Waaay to much methanol in that serbian self-soaked hillbilly spirit :ohno

Roughly as well as in his era. Top tier contender who couldn't beat the best fighters in the world. He'd have very little chance against prime Holmes or prime Tyson. He might win one of "titles" from lesser guy though.

Yeah highlights of Tyson hype combos that worked on bums but failed against the real boxers well done...

Bowe and Mercer turned pro in 1989 and Golota didn't even box professionally in the 80's.

    Read the question.

80s and early 90s and Bowe had matches with Holyfield and Mercer in early 1991.

He’d be the third best HW around, he could beat a lesser version of Holmes as lesser men then Oscar came close but he gets slaughtered by Tyson.

No way could Bonaveda go toe to toe with Tyson like that his hands were far slower than Tyson`s and he missed tons of shots.
