IMO Prime roy jones was unbeatable. i think he would last all 12 rounds with Mike Tyson and even stunn him a couple of times win a UD, i think roy was really that gifted. this might sound crazy but u gotta look at it as if it were a street fight. i know pleanty of u have seen smaller guys beat up bigger guys because the smaller guy was a better fighter.

I know if tyson caught him with a really good shot it would be a KO but Roy was a very gifted athlete and could probly make tyson miss alot.

Anyways what do y'all think? Would Roy have had a chance? if not, how long do u think he would last in the ring and how good would he do against tyson?

Dam good thread, two fighters that i loved to watch fight. I think Roy very well could have outboxed Mike for 12 rounds but Tyson was a murderous body puncher in his prime as well people tend to forget that, iam goin say Mike by late round stoppage in the 11 but to be honest this
was a hard choice. Good thread when need more of these on this forum and less Manny and Floyd

Jones gets caught and stopped, after looking like the GOAT for several rounds.

I wouldn't bet on it, but I'd just wager that a Prime Tyson HAS to hit Roy hard sooner or later.

    Very interesting.

I think Roy would have been fast enough to elude & frustrate Tyson, and probably win a UD. - It probably wouldn't even have been boring despite all the dancing. Like watching a moth dance on the edge of a razorblade for 12 rounds.

Roy demanded a fight with Tyson after the first Tarver fight claiming he could not be motivated anymore to fight challengers at 175.Tyson already on his way down was still a massive puncher at heavyweight. If they would have fought then Roy could have dominated the fight with his phenomenal speed but as soon Mike hit Roy on the chin it would be over.Tyson in 2 .

I see Jones out-boxing Tyson as well with something many early opponents of Mike never used properly against him, footwork.
It would also be interesting to see cause prime Tyson was deceptively fast, hands and upper-body movement, I mean, not as fast as Roy, but fast enough to make it interesting.

Roy is looking good for the first minute, sticking Tyson here and there, slipping his punches, then Tyson dips to one side and unleashes a leaping left hook, Roy leans back instead of ducking under and gets caught, he falls backwards, his head bounces off the canvas, fight over.

yeah tyson fast as hell for his size with reall good head movement. he would probably slow jones down with those viscious body shots. if roy would outbox him i can see Tyson gettin frustrated and start fighting dirty too lol
