    Truth.

Too many people get caught up in the one-punch power of a Foreman or Shavers. It's Tyson's speed, greater accuracy, vicious combinations In Addition to exceptional power that make him superior. **** 1 Punch. Tyson was the best fighter in the world pound for pound at his best.

When I clicked on this thread, I expected to see the the thread starter get absolutely terrorised for such a ridiculous thread.. what's made this worse is that not only do some people believe Roy would last 12 rounds against a prime Mike, some actually think he would win.. what the actual ****?

Roy was a freak, the closest think to superman we'll probably see in a boxing ring.. but this is up at heavyweight against a fighter who in his prime, was a freak himself. Roy wouldn't see it past 2.

Prime Rj was too fast for Tyson. I wish he would have pursued the Tyson fight after he beat Ruiz. The drop in weight stole his strength and led to the end of his career.

A better matchup is who wins if they had fought in 2003, following Jones/Ruiz and Tyson/Etienne

Jones wouldn't make it out of the first. Tyson was one of the fastest Heavyweights of all time. He would get to Jones, & quickly.

Prime Jones or not, he'd be hit harder & more often than he's ever been in his entire career. To body & head!

:lol:This place never ceases to amaze me. Tyson would steamroll Roy. No Lt. Heavyweight is moving up and faring well against a prime Mike Tyson.

As much as I think Jones was unbeatable in his Prime @ SMW...I can't see him holding off Tyson who is in his prime @ HW!!!! It would be a fun fight but eventually Mike catches up to a slowing Jones and stops him late...

TS must be a troll, and if you think RJJ has any chance whatsoever v. a prime Tyson, then do us all a favor and log off.

I think what I find troubling in the responses that favor Roy Jones in this match up is that they seem to be focusing on Roy's athleticism and physical gifts while completely ignoring Tyson's physical gifts which essentially turned him from a young phenom to a gifted Champion.

Roy doesn't have style or the tools to beat Mike Tyson. Aside from Tyson's 1 punch power in either hand Mike was technically proficient, had tremendous handspeed, footspeed and in some fights he'd take his time to breakdown opponents who physically can't stop him ala Tyrell Biggs.

After all, to beat Tyson you are going to have to fight him at some point, you are going to have to be physical. Roy can be as elusive as he wants but if he lasts more than a few rounds it will come at the expense of his offense.

Lastly I don't think Mike Tyson would respect Roy Jones's power so with that being the case; I just don't see how Roy Jones jr. fares any better than Michael Spinks.

    Tyson by early stoppage.
