Think about what it takes to get to 48-0 in this modern era. This is not post ww2 america when boxing was basically gutted and boxers were part time hobos and plumbers. In this day and age, boxing is a PROFESSION. FIghters are BRED...modern fighters have the best training, nutrition, facilties, sparring, etc that allows them to compete at the highest levels and the top of their potential...For serious pro fighters, EVERY fight is make-or-break event. Furthermore, you're facing the best, not of ONE weight class, but of NUMEROUS weight classes...across a wide array of styles. you're facing fighters at all different stages of their careers. you're facing guys who are naturally much bigger, naturally stronger, or quicker or more technical.... hungry, unstable guys trying to smash your nose in with their head....You can't afford to have even ONE bad night... you can't afford ANY surprises. you have to stay 100% sharp at all times.....you basically have to be perfect like a computer....you have to STAY BRILLIANT. And you can't take an easy fight every so often against, say a willie monroe or a james kirkland or danny geale...so you're fighting one multi-divison champ after another and another and another and another....you're facing multi-division champs who are 5-10 years younger than you and who outweigh you by 20-30 lbs on fight night. and you can't afford to lose more than THREE rounds in any of these fights or it's called a "controversial win" for you. So, you have to make other elite, even atg fighters look like C-grade amateurs. then the same ones who crticize you for a close win will turn around and call you "boring" because you dominated so much it sapped all the drama. If you really think about it, it's BEYOND HUMAN that a guy could get through all of that 48 times over 20 years! through career ups and downs, personal ups and downs, motivational ups and downs....UNDEFEATED. FMJ is basically a superman...we've had other guys who were like superman. rjj, tyson, ali, joe lous, srr, armstrong, jack johnson and guys like that. but even rjj lost (by dq) during his prime....yeah, it was a dq...but it proved that rjj was not perfect...not like a computer. not like floyd. FMJ is basically a god-like, human computer. he's the ultimate warrior...the culmination of boxing acumen, skill and intelligence. without a doubt the greatest pfp fighter of all time.
oh look, a Fl0M0 but in reality, Floyd is a ring genius, one of the best and smartest technicians the sport has ever seen
Thought it was a nice change to not see you making a thread about Golovkin, but I see there was a swipe with regards to Monroe and Geale
Carefully manufactured career avoiding many prime opponents and many opponents period, atg cherrypicker.
