Floyd has been a champion for 18 years, is undefeated and is currently 38 years old with no real threat from 140-154.

    Let that marinate.

i honestly would have rated everybody you stated higher that floyd til i read this..
In all honesty what hurts floyds legacy in
a lot of peoples eyes is that he never faced the prime versions of the fighters he beat, while its not his fault that these fights were never made, it gives leverage for his haters to discredit everything he does

im sure if fights between mosley, oscar, pacquaio were all made earlier when floyd was willing to fight them

and actually beat them, i doubt many would have a problem rating him top 10

ok...so, you wanna argue competition...so, lets.

    duran:
lw: dejesus (lost 1, won 2)
ww: srl (won 1, lost 2). benitez (lost), hearns (lost)
    mw hagler (lost)

    Srl:
ww: benitez (won), duran (lost 1, won 2), hearns (lost 1, drew 1)
    mw: hagler (won)

    Hearns:
ww: cuevas (won), leonard (lost1 drew 1), duran (won), benitez (won)
    mw (hagler lost)

fmjj: corrales (won), hatton (won), judah (won), dlh (won), cotto ((won), marquez (won) canelo (won), pacquiao (won), ssm (won)

i think floyd's comp measures up with that of the fab four....specifically i think marquez, corrales and pacman would give duran a very tough fight....hatton would be trouble for benitez. canelo would ve tough for hearns. ssm would give srl a good fight....dlh was always a contender.

but floyd handled his comp with relative ease...that tells me that if fmj had been around in the 1980's he dominates the fab 4 with the same ease he dominates today...you might want to call that implausible or a troll comment...but to me, it's more a matter of wrapping your brain around the concept of a fighter being so vastly more skillful than anybody else that most people can't imagine it...and his record and performances speak for themselves.

List your top 15-25. How many of those fighters never faced a prime ATG?

Plenty of guys have lots of wins and few losses. Just go to boxing rec.

Look at Leonard. A true top 20 ATG. He faced Benitez, Duran, Hagler, Hearns. All of them at their peak. Maybe Hearns was slightly green and Hagler slightly worn down. But still not very far off it at all.

How many ATGs has Floyd had the opportunity to fight in their primes? You act as if his era was littered with them. Don't even fix your fingers to start typing anything about ducking Pacquiao.

I don't see how Mayweather rates higher than Lamotta for example.

Jake was the only man to defeat prime Robinson. The best fighter ever. Yes he was the significantly bigger man and had a size advantage, but still.

That win blows away anything Floyd ever did in his career. Far and away blows it away.

Im sorry but Mike Tyson is not top 25. One of the most overrated fighters ever. And if you're rankings on "prime" only then where is Roy Jones?

I'm not going to discuss that. I'm just pointing out something important. Floyd can't be jumping people on ATG lists when they have vastly superior competition.

It's absurd for example that he would rate above Leonard or even near him.

PBF is an elite ATG but he's not the GOAT he's a top 15 ATG at best and I'm a huge PBF fan.

Nobody rates him above Leonard. But he does have a win over JMM who is an atg.

I wouldn't rate Floyd above Ray, even though I think Floyd beats him head to head and is the overall better fighter. That's not what this is.

A Marquez at 146 is not even close to ATG.
