not a good win since Margarito cheats.

considering he beat him when he supposedly was cheating, doesn't that make it an ever better victory?

We're not talking about antonio's win over Miguel Cotto.

Good win. Beat a top of his game Margo when he was getting all the hype of being the most feared man in the sport.

I would have to believe that you're simply taking the **** here."Put a pasting on him?" Have you actually seen this fight? Margarito never blocked so many punches in his entire life.Williams patty slapped Margarito's gloves for six rounds before Margarito came on strong in the second half and made the fight close.Williams didn't "put a pasting on him",and he didn't outox him, either.Simple matter of Margarito starting too slow and being outworked.

I'd be inclined to believe this post more if I hadn't watched the fight. So Margarito outboxed Williams and blocked all his punches? I wasn't aware he had Whitaker-like skills at that point in his career.

Where did I say that Margarito outboxed Williams? That's right,I didn't.All I did was point out that Margarito blocked a great deal of Williams's "punches" that night.I didn't say he was winning those rounds, did I?

Margarito got off to a slow start in that fight not throwing much in the begining and basically lost the first 6 rounds due to output. Then he came on strong towards the end but it was too late. I wish they would've made a rematch I think Toney could've taken Paul the second time around, instead Quintana got to Williams first.

Keep in mind Margarito actually had to go against Bob Arum for this fight to happen too. Arum tried everything to block this fight. Arum used to really screw over Margarito, he was out of the ring for 7 months before the Williams fight and 10 months before the Clottey fight.

It was a top notch win.. Marg started slow but Williams came on nonstop.. He was able to survive a vicious and unrelenting beating the second half of that fight and came out strong and fought like a real champ in the 12th..

I always get a bad taste in my mouth thinking about why Williams wouldn't give Margarito that immediate rematch.. that was ****ed up and a low blow, that man gave you a shot and you couldn't return the favor when he clearly deserved it..

Before anyone disagrees with them denying the rematch check your ****.. Marg asked for it immediately in the ring, while being interviewed after the fight, then kept asking him again during the post fight conference.. Williams response "I'm onto bigger and better things" hahaha ... In the weeks following arum was contacting Williams team with the same response... hell no..

This what bothers me so much about Williams.. He wouldn't give Marg a rematch that the former champion who had given him a shot deserved.. Say they're looking for bigger fights... WTF. Then loses to Quintana, that was sad..

Great win for PTP. It won him his first title by defeating a champion of 4 consecutive years.

And Margs gave Williams the same treatment after defeating Cotto when he elected to fight Mosley instead - and by then the fans were clamoring more than ever for the fight. It would have been a unification match and probably would have sold out the Staples just the same.
