How great is the CW division that we should anoint Usyk for 'cleaning it out'?

Dude, you just went full ******.

Beating 1 American/Mexican in front of a Mexican crowd, not to mentioned it’s Ruiz, more impressive than becoming undisputed by going trough :

    Glowacki in Poland
    Hunter in America
    Huck in Germany
    Briedis in Latvia
    Gassiev in Russia
    Bellend in UK

....? wtf is wrong with you

All those guys were beaten in their own countries, in front of their own “rowdy crowd”. And this is just the tittle run.

His claim to fame is becoming undisputed CW champ by beating all these guys within his 16 pro fights and always fighting on the road, last part being his signature and proof of courage.

    Like I said, you’re a ****.

This post proves that you know little about his achievements or resume if you bring up Bellew in his top three wins.

I also think going on the road to fight a boxer from a country wich your country are at war with qualifies in to a "hostile crowd".

Hunter, a nondescript CW, moved up to HW and is now touted as one of its best up and coming fighters. He's also got an amateur win over Ruiz, and would be given a good chance to beat him today. This was a man that was totally dominated by Usyk in front of his home crowd in Usyk's 12th pro fight.

That win alone shows how good Usyk is relative to the HW division, and a win over fat boy Ruiz isn't going to prove anything we don't already know.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say the reason the Cruiser division is considered so poor is the fact it is one of the least African.
If Wilder drops down and beats a bunch of Nigerian prospects it will be a great division that doesn't get the respect it deserves.

I don't disagree. Moving up does solidify legacy but it doesn't reflect on the question posed by this thread. Uysk could get knocked out at HW and that doesn't change what he achieved at cruiser.

His on-the-road, grab-a-belt tour of all the other champions' back yards - good champions too - was impressive and will remain so whatever he does, or doesn't do at HW.

The Wilder-loving OP acts threatened by this man's imminent presence in the HW division. He hasn't thrown a punch in anger yet. That's quite the accolade...

Usyks probably has the deepest resume head to head of anyone today.

Consider his best wins, hunter, glowacki, huck, briedis, gassiev and bellew.

Now out of Wilder, Joshusa and Furys best wins who would you pick to beat all of the above?! Klitschko maybe although he didn’t exactly look super impressive against jennings who's basically a cruiser himself but whatever I will give you him.

Who else...? I’m not confident in picking any other fighter from the top 3 heavyweight's resume currently today.

Povetkin's the next best win for me. Consider that Huck gave him hardest fight of his career after Joshua and Klitschko. Since then Huck's been comfortably beaten by 2 other guys on usyk's resume and you get the picture.

Also, out of usyks opponents bellew was the oldest 35 and gassiev the youngest 24 all of them were at or near there physical prime. When you scrutinize joshusa, fury's and wilder best wins well...

    Fury's best opponents age

    Klitschko 39
    Cunningham 37

    Joshua's best opponents age

    Klitschko 41
    Povetkin 39

    Wilders best opponents age

Ortiz (God only Knows) but at best 39

The cruiserweight division will almost always be stacked because it's got a 25 pound weight bracket. Fighters around the weight have 1 of 3 difficult choices to make

    1.Fight in a competitive division

2.Gain weight and fight guys 3 to 4 inches taller and 20 to 30lbs heavier

3.Lose a lot weight and come into a super drained and lacking energy.

Compare to Terence Crawford's weight were taking a **** can drop you a weight class and that alone makes them beyond compare frankly.

So yeah usyk's the man basically.

CW at the time Usyk united the division it was the toughest divison in boxing. Usyk, Gasseiv, Briedis, Hunter, Bellew, Dorticos, Huck, Perez, Glowacki, Wlodarczyk, Lebedev and Kudryashov.

Now that Usyk, Hunter and Gassiev have moved up and that Lebedev and Bellew have retired. I would say LHW is the toughest divison in boxing now.

The names on Usyk's resume may not sound exotic but if you've been following CW for a while, you know he's done an impressive job and beat some solid guys. Thing is though for me, right now the top p4p is kind of weak (not in terms of fighters but resumes) so it's up for grabs, that's kind of why I feel Usyk is up there.

The OP is clearly another graduate of the slip and fall school.
