Agreed. If Wlad can unify the belts & defend against all these up & coming fighters: Povetkin, Haye, Solis, Virchis, Arreola, etc. & look good doing it he will certainly be in the top 10 ATG heavyweights.
Wlad will have his detractors and naysayers all throughout the time he clears the forest of all the puny trees that stand in his way. I honestly don't see anyone out there who is capable of beating him, and if he has no more stamina relapses, of "surprises" ala Corrie Sanders, then who pray tell me, is gonna beat him? Sam Peter?, You have to be kidding. His 15 minutes of fame will soon be over, even if he does beat Maskaev. In a rematch, he'll take no chances ala Brewster, and will beat Peter decisively. He needs to just stay healthy, in mind and body, and the oyster is his alone.
I prefer Bowe's style to Vlad's and I think that a 92-93 version of Bowe would be hard for Vlad to beat but Bowe was not in the Championship picture long enough. The damage sustained in the trilogy cut his career at the top short. Vlad has been a top level fighter for quite awhile and will not be easy to unseat. What other great fighters did Bowe face other than Vander?
Bowe was a better inside fighter than Wladimir and he had a better chin. That's where Bowe's strengths end. Golota out jabbed the **** outta Bowe and Wlad has a much better jab then Golota and it's more powerful, and he sets up the heavy hits with it. He also hits a lot harder than Golota, especially with the right hand. Head to head Bowe doesn't really stand a chance unless Klitschko tries to go punch for punch in the center of the ring, and I just don't see that happening.
That would be stretching it a bit...................:yep Top 10 all time though if he unifies & doesn't lose again.
How can Wlad be above Bowe? That's just silly. Bowe lost only one fight and that was against Holyfield and was the linear champion. He also beat Holyfield twice and those wins are better than anything Wlad has.
