Well with all the big exciting fights that pushed through . . . it's really great. Pavlik / Taylor Pacman / Barrera Vasquez / Rafa Calzaghe /Kesller Cotto /Mosley . . . just to mention a few . . . plus Hatton Mayweather coming up. :good
Not a great year for the Heavyweights, too many canceled fights. I do think boxing as a whole made great strides to be better this year, we still have the biggest fight still to come and I cant wait.
The best thing about it is that HBO had their best year ever money wise, so it will only encourage the suits to continue to put together great fights since they now realize that that is how they can make the most money (wow what a concept!! put on the best fights and people will actually pay to see them!). I think boxing can thank the UFC for forcing the networks and the promoters to step up and give the fans what they want to see.
I had never really watched boxing until this year. I happened upon some fights on HBO earlier this year and was hooked. Now I am downloading a fight about every day on the torrent site I use.
Its just too bad my favorite fighter is Lamon Brewster, and my least favorite is Wlad. As far as Briggs getting beat by Iggy, now the WBO champ is even less exciting to watch, I will take Briggs anyday to watch over Iggy.
Thats awesome man, I always love hearing about new fans, it gives me hope that boxing is on its way back towards the top of the American sports world.:happy
it was good... and my boxing years about over, dont care about hatton mayweather... seeing how mayweather isnt going to actually fight anyways... but yeah, all my fighters lost, up untill last weekend.. when cotto and haye won, cant wait till 08'.. it should have some promising fights aswell
