I knew this thread would attract Jack.
    Always hating on DLH.
I wonder if he is not one of those fans that probably didnt get an autograph at a signing.
He probably wanted to get his DLH cd signed and DLH told him he was done signing autographs turning him into one of those psychotic fans....

I think in a few decades he will be regarded even higher as people will see that not every fighter can or wants to have a resume that deep. Oscar took all the chances in the world when he really didnt have to. With his popularity he still could have made plenty of money fighting B fighters.

Either you never saw those fights or you are the purest hater on this board.

I've probably watched Trinidad-DLH more times than any Boxing Poster on any website, including Max and the Pound. 115-114, 6-5-1, Trinidad W12 DLH. Check the record books!:hi:

I disagree. He easily beat Trinidad and also took care of steroid version of Mosley.

DLH lost just about every big fight he was in. The Trinidad fight gets canceled out by the Sturm robbery.

Oscar is not an ATG just because he fought a lot of good fighters you actually have to win them to be an ATG. Oscar lost more big fights than he won.

Yes but think about it this way Rico. How often do the top guys get in with the top opposition specially after losing their 0. Oscar win or lose always wanted to face the best.
I mean i started hating on Oscar for a while when he didnt face Margarito like he said he would but then i got to thinking and Oscar has fought the best of his generation and now that he is about to retire he gets a pass from me.

Even if he did lose some big fight can u honestly say he got completely beat. No he made them close enough that he could have gotten the nod.

I'm struggling to see the point of this thread to be honest. If Oscar had beaten every opponent he ever faced then yeah he'd be top 5 ATG but he didn't, he lost, and lost badly a couple of times.

He also recieved a fair few gifts in his time too. Of course he's a hall of famer but he's not up there with the elite.

Hard to say since had he won those fights that would mean he would be a better fighter than he ended up being. Oscar is a guy who lost his fights with the top tier guys, so you can sort of see his level. He was above the Ike Quartey level and below the Shane Mosley and Mayweather level. Even though he was old when Floyd beat him, he was still never at that level. I think he is below a ATG level. He lost too much.

he did clearly lose to Sturm.

I'm saying its not just winning, its how you win. I thought the thread starter meant if you could change the way OScar actually fought, not just the judge decisions.

If you just change the judges' decisions, he still doesn't make it to the top 10. not even close.

I don't even think he was above the Ike Quartey level, the fight with Quartey proved he was about the same.
