Were any of these guys prime or great at the time delahoya fought them? He certainly didn't beat them if they were. That is what I mean. He is just not an ATG like someone like Leonard who beat top tier guys who were prime and dominant in their own weight classes.

Damn near all of them were in great form except maybe JCC, who was fighting north of his best weight. SRL beats DLH imho, but whether you like him or not you gotta admit DLH was the real goods.

Sturm was no robbery, that was a clear DLH win. He couldn't hurt Sturm but he landed more shots, and it's Sturm's own fault that he was content to jab jab jab and never actually try to take the fight.

Wow this is ridiculous. Tito's fight was a robbery but Sturm's was no gift for Hoya? Wow. How big of an Oscarsexual are you. I , as a Tito fight, can accept a decision for Oscar in the Tito fight, but to say that the sturm fight was a clear win for DLH is about as stupid as can be. Even Oscar thought he did not win. His facial expression after the fight said it all. Sturm CLEARLY without a doubt won that night. By using your logic then, I can say that Oscar's "loss" against Tito was Oscar's , and I quote you: "own fault that he was content to jab jab jab and never actually try to take the fight."

Seriously you need help man if you think that DLH beat Sturm.

He was great with the guys who were not top top level. But when he reached top level he could not get over the hill. Leonard always did. His level is below a Hearns or Leonard just because those guys beat greats and were in great fights. Oscar's career was great compared to most, but compared to the greats he does not have the dominant wins. That is going to hurt him when it comes to ranking. Maybe he should have tried to stay at 140 where he was so dominant. When he moved up his skills were not enough to win him the fights when it counted.

Its hillarious how Widdow sneaks names out there among much better caliber fighters .......

There is'nt but a handful of great fighters among that list of his, but somehow he thinks that surrounding these 2nd tier names with great fighters, somehow makes DLH' s resume seem better than it actually was!
    :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

DLH beat good caliber fighters, but lost to the great caliber fighters, its really that simple......

.....and Saul, a bad idea for a thread.....

These type of scenarios can be done with just about any high caliber fighter......

Example.....What if JC Chavez had never lost to Randall......never been cut in the first DLH fight and went on to stop him late in the fight, and then said goodbye to boxing with the only blemish on his record a draw to Pernell Whitaker?
    Where would he rank?

You could do it with Trinidad.....what if he'd beaten Bernard Hopkins and retired right there?
    Where would he rank?

What if Leonard would have got the decision against Duran, and retired undefeated right after the Hagler fight?
    Where would he rank?

If JMM would have rightfully been undefeated at the moment, and retires right after whooping Diaz, and schooling Hatton in his final fight as a proffesional...
    Where would he rank?

They'd all rank amongst the very elite ever would'nt they.......but the facts are that they did'nt happen.....

I know that Saul is just playing devils advocate.....but to hype up a fighter like DLH who has many losses on his record.......It just does'nt make sense to me!

Be serious here, Mosely beat him soundly at 147 lbs when they first fight.....and that was in DLH's prime.
A what if undefeated scenario stops right there imo!

There are too many losses there on DLH's record to realistically look at it with a what if kind of scenario.

Yes it would have. He could have tried to win the remaining rounds with Tito, but something inside him would have rather not been knocked out. And with Mosley, he just did not have the handspeed to outscore Shane. Either way, he was a level below both.

This is ****in' stupid. What if Trent Dilfer had thrown 40+ TD passes his entire career and won the super bowl every single year? So he has like 13 rings, or something. Would he be the greatest to ever play in the NFL? I think he would! Derrrrrrrr!!!! I work at bur-ger-king I work at bur-ger-king would you like an apple pie wit daa--aa--at????

    No.

Mayweather outlanded him thoughtout, with sharper, more hurtful punches.

Oscar barely has a case for winning 2 rounds.

If he had actually won all his fights, clearly, he would be the best and greatest ever this is ridiculous.

If Joe Calzaghe had beaten all his opponents by TKO 1, people would say he had only fought bums (such as Bernard Hopkins) though.
