Brook: if I was Mayweather I'd stay far away from me.

Floyd would shut out Brook and Thurman on the same night.

Floyd lost to Larry O'Shields and everyone talking as though he's TBE.
    GTFO.

Nobody actually believes this, do they?

I know the "statistic army" will be out with their data, but Floyd, as amazingly talented as he is, isn't anywhere near the best ever.

It's not just about being undefeated and popular. He never ever set out to challenge himself. He's a businessman first, fighter second. Distant second at that!

RJJ, Fab 4, Toney, Lewis, Marciano, SRR - All rank higher, IMHO.

Manny, although Floyd beat him, has the better resume.

His "Mexicutioner" run was and is legendary. Floyd never did a thing like that.

And to go TWENTY YEARS and not having beaten an ATG in their prime at their optimal weight is crazy! You're talking THREE DIFFERENT DECADES, lots of different styles (to a degree) and multiple divisions! Insane how he never accomplished that. And don't give me any rubbish about it not being his fault, we know how he plays the game.

Floyd, I feel, would have been competitive in most era's. Just not as dominate in them as he has been in his.

If he'd have been born in another time and gone pro in '76 and stayed pro until '96 and campaigned at the same weights as he has done, he'd have picked up losses in multiple divisions (which wouldn't have been anything to have been ashamed of due to how stacked with talent they were).

He genuinely cannot be called "The Best Ever".

It's one hell of a statement to make, period. Let alone by yourself!

I agree. A lot of anger has been put on Golovkin not rising in weight to fight Ward, but Floyd could have risen or went down in weight to fight at least one or two Greats. He didn't.

When I think of Mayweather, I think 'what could've been'. It's disappointing. One can't be considered TBE unless they've genuinely proven it against the best.

Agreed. He never chased greatness, just money.

His career post 2007 has been dreadful.

Who would you have picked to beat him?

Other than Pacquiao, what prime ATGs did he not fight?

    In general? many fighters.

Modern day? Sergio would have beaten him at 154. Williams would have been a nightmare for him.

    Modern day fighters.

Williams had no defense whatsoever. Floyd would have hit him.

Sergio, Williams, Margarito, KT, Lara, Golovkin.

Those guys have very high chances of upsetting the applecart.

Floyd was getting hit for fun by a technically dreadful fighter in Maidana.

Williams, with his reach and output, would have been a nightmare for Floyd.
