At the gym I go to I see alot of guys who just do not seem to do **** all and certain guys I have even see break sweat. I know women get alot of stick for just going to the gym and having a chat while they spend 20 mins doing a little over a mile on one machine.

I try and train as hard as I can always. I know there is not much science behind my method but it works and I feel the results.

So how hard do you train and how often plus what area's do you work on?

I train 5 or 6 times a week. I work on my body as a whole, I don't think the body can be divided into parts.

Sixdays a week, two times a day currently. Gonna have to drop down to one a day Wed when I start back for this semester of school..:( Otherwise, boxing workouts I really do whole body I guess... Otherwise I run, which would be endurance really. I also go to a fitness gym to lift about 4 times a week. Ill always either focus on legs, arms, and/or core. I do strength training though, I dont lift for bulk or mass.
As far as those others at the gym who just use it as a social outlet to get out of the house... **** em. Every gyms gonna have em.

I think different body types need different types of training, i'm more of a sprint athlete and if i train day after day i burn out and get weaker and weaker, i need to force myself to train less and when i do my speed and energy is phenomenal on the days i train. Train smart, not hard, listen to your body.

    5-6 days a week, I was 43 last november.

If your serious about boxing you need to be in the gym at least 5 days a week.

    Regards Bill

Just do enough to keep interested, and feel fresh when walking out of the gym. Over doing it will drain you. Menally and physically. Easy for me to say.... took 20 years to realise the value of the suggestion...

    I go boxing 4 nights a week and I go for a run 5/6 times a week.

I work nights so I go training before work and do a ten hour shift then go for a run and push my self as hard as I can and I believe it's made me mentally prepared for my fight knowing I'm pushing myself even when running alone especially this morning it was -6(****in' freezing).

Yesterday when I biked home it was -9, I nearly froze my balls off. Tonight will be even worse, up to -15 in my neck of the woods, -20 even at places where snow fell.

5 days a week twice a day, I used to go 6 days a week but a little while after switching to 5 days a week I started breaking every personal best I had in the gym and on the road. The right amount of rest is nearly as important as how hard you work.

I mean when I'm not being a layabout student on christmas holidays at home :)

I always train but generally my boxing will probably end June and start in September again.

All these guys saying they train 6-7 times a well like your full time pros! C`mon ladies keep it real! The most il train is 3 times and in rare cases 4 times a week. But i work out like an animal. There is no rest and no hanging around. I go to get the job done and then i go home. THATS WHY IM A BEAST! :)

Scurla, just replace gangster with beastly.
I train boxing 3 times a week and kind of low volume powerlifting routine the other 4 days, on Thursday's its accessory only to not die.

By low volume I just mean the core lift + 1 other move, like bench and rows, squats and nothing, deadlifts and nothing actually.

    I'm improving nicely.
