Totally shocked me that stoppage, in fact Im still in shock that Groves took Smith out like that:scaredas:

I honestly fancied Smith to pull off the shock, but like many here who underestimated Burns, looks like I criminally underestimated Groves.

Groves looks like he could go a long way...

Such a clinical, classy finish. No smothering his own work, step in, fire the right, take him down.

 

Groves has good right hand power, but it was perfectly timed and landed right on the button, very few SMW's would haven't gone down

 

Think he has very good power to be honest, he punches a lot harder than Degale for me, looks at the difference in the stoppages not on paper but watchng the fights, James kind of overwhelms you whereas George hurts you. That is levelled up with Degales resistance being better than Groves as far as I am concerned.

There is not much between them and I don't think there will ever be much between them, my hope is that one of them wins a world title and then we get a proper fight between them for a world title, that way perhaps both men will come to fight ala Benn/Eubank/Collins/Watson world titles way back, may be dreaming I guess but thats what I would like.
