How hard does Sam Peter hit?

It's just like every other fighter out there. Peter absorbed MUCH harder shots from Wlad than he did against McCline. It isn't always about power, it is about timing. Wlad doesn't get rocked from shots all that much. He simply used to react in a more frantic manner when he did get hit. This is because he went his entire career, hardly getting hit. When he started getting tagged, he wasn't sure how to handle it. Manny Steward has showed him the way, and he has got better and better since then. He is a more relaxed fighter now, and he isn't being over aggressive, wearing himself out. He used to throw huge punches, and leave himself out of position and vulnerable.

Did you know that before the Peter fight, Wlad had only sparred for 4 rounds at a time during training? His german handlers didn't know how to train him properly. Manny started having him spar for hundreds of rounds before his fights... 10-12 round sparing, ect... to teach Wlad how to think and fight when he gets tired. How to go on the defense, when he has used up his energy, and this opponent goes on the attack, ect... Wlad used to be all offense, although he still didn't get hit often, it was because he was always throwing punches and his opponents were always trying to deal with what was coming at them. However, as we saw against Puritty and Brewster... once he was spent, he didn't know how to play the other side of the fence. Also, against Sanders, he didn't know what to do when he got buzzed. He isn't the same fighter anymore. He has improved A LOT under Steward.

 

Flawed logic... in the Krasniqi fight, Brewster landed just as brutal of a left hook in the 9th round.

 

I agree with this post, Manny worked wonders for Wlad, though he's not as exciting, he is however more effective. I still feel he's weak in a sense, mentally that is, he seems to have real fear of getting hit or least mixing up with his oppenent, I think thats where the weak chin claim comes into play.


I think Wlad has ATG skills, but lacks ATG like mental strength, which makes some people say, "He's only one punch away from losing" or "He looks scared to get hit", I personally would love to see Wlad go toe to toe with someone, that would really impress me and make take back all the ill feelings I have towards him.

No.... we want him to fuccin fight and not hold/clinch 94 times. And also not turn his head or entire body and run away while fighting. That'd be a start.

Trust me... if they went toe-to-toe... Wlad would be laying face up on the canvas. Period.

 

History shows Peter is unable to KO even B level fighters. If they fight again I believe Wlad will KO him. If he gets by Maskaev tonight I know Vitali Klitschko will destroy him.

 

He hits hard, but he's very predictable, so he'll rarely hit you flush

When he does its lightsout, ala Jeremy Williams

His chin isn't any better than Moorer's, Maskev or Raahman's. I have seen him down in other bouts that he wasn't stopped.
