Look at this fickle bitch shitting on Luis Ortiz's resume before he fought Jennings: https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/resume-hypocrisy-ortiz.554032/#post-17619987 But now he's oh-so-proven, right? Let's see, what has Ortiz done since andrew made the above thread? He beat...Jennings, okay. And? Malik Scott Dave Allen Daniel Martz Razvan Cojanu Travis Kauffman Christian Hammer Wow. Stuff of legend. So proven.
This reminds me kind of... of that time Will Purdue was crying tears of joy after the Bulls won their 3rd championship, and that irked Jordan. Anyone remember why?
Dismissive maybe, but not all out hating. Andrew's a good natured well meaning guy, who's never been too vindictive or mean spirited so I didn't read it as such, granted I might have had more or at least different interactions with him than you. So maybe you are right.
Ruizs speed and combination punching played as much a factor as did counter punching. Ortiz only does one of those three things as good as Ruiz. Ruiz is much better at closing the distance, is much faster and throws more effective combinations. The role Ruizs speed and punches in bunches played in mugging AJ cant be understated. Also... you say wait til Ruiz beats another top 20 heavyweight, but plenty of people had him beating Parker, and even if you didnt, surely that fight was competitive enough to help act as a further indicator as to Ruizs level. That being said... I do agree the Ortiz from the first Wilder fight, let alone the Jennings fight, would be a huge test for AJ and him winning would not suprise me at all. But the Jennings fight was years ago and hes now been KO'd in the meantime, which does old fighters no favors. Hes begun to show his decline, imo. Todays Ortiz would likely have been stopped.
Ortiz would have been the easier fight style wise for AJ but a far more serious fight bc mistakes would have to made limited in that one unlike the other so ..... Southpaw to AJ = Counter right hand from hell.
Credit to Ruiz but Joshua had him down and got hurt when he got too over confident trying to finish him off. I expect Joshua to fight a lot more conservatively next time around. Lewis vs Tua II.
Lol smoked. Ortiz is nothing like Ruiz, to say he would have beaten AJ clearly on Saturday is ignorant.
That’s as good as some of the Euro trash resumes I see and those guys are held up as super credible lol.
