Ortiz probably is in better position than before.

If Ruiz wins the rematch win or lose vs wilder he will get an additional opportunity to fight for belts.

    That’s 2 shots (Ruiz & Wilder)
If he lost to Joshua he’d have no more championship opportunities

He’s in better position now than he was before. So is Kownacki.

There is only one way to settle this ... Ruiz vs Ortiz let the Wilder vs Ruiz mega showdown marínate.

Or AJ vs Ortiz that would be dope too.

Ortiz could also exploit the holes in Joshua’s game. He would have landed counters. But he wouldn’t have been able to jump on Joshua and grind him down which is what Joshua hated.

I hate fake agenda-driven BS. This guy clearly wasn't even an Ortiz fan, just using him to pounce in opportunistically and make whatever his dumb little point was.

Ortiz made the right decision. At his age without having a full camp he would’ve most likely gassed really badly while Ruiz still has youth. Ortiz is still going to get a title shot, but at least against Wilder he’ll get a full camp.

Ortiz is very lucky actually, he’s been knocked out and came back against 3 poor opponents and now has his chance to prove his worth again.
