How has beating Stiverne proved anything about Wilder ?

Wilder proved that his power is just a myth. Soon as someone showed up that wasn't paid to take a dive, his KO streak ended.

It proves he can stand up for 12 rounds under zero adversity, which is better than 4 rounds under zero adversity....the guy's basically a prospect lol, what do you want?

I was impressed at him continuing to throw after hurting his hand. I could tell early on there was a problem. Also having the discipline to stick to a plan for that long was good. Again, it was about as easy a fight as he'll ever get at the championship level, but he did prove some things.

He proved a lot of people on this forum DKSAB: the ones who said he would fall apart the first time he got hit by a true heavyweight puncher, the ones who said he would have no stamina, the ones who said Stiverne would destroy him, the ones who said he had no boxing skills.

I understand the ones who invested themselves so deeply in these opinions need to backtrack and find some explanation other than the simple fact that they were wrong, but it is what it is.

Proved plenty to me.... showed he isn't a completely stupid fighter, showed his chin isn't as glass as advertised, showed he can carry his power late, showed he wont completely implode late in a fight stamina wise, ect.

NONE of that was known before fight. For all anyone knew, he would fold once he was in the 7th, 8th, 9th rounds... or fall over with the first halfway decent head or body shot, or fight stupid and try to brawl with Stiverne n stand right in front of him.

Now I at least now where his lower potential is at in many particular areas, now as he rises in opponents I will see where his whole potential is.

For a guy who had never been past 4 rounds he has a lot of potential, and anyone who doesn't know more about Wilder after this fight then they did before it, is lost in the sauce. And the thing you now know, are the things he proved.

What happened to Wilder's power? He landed one right hand after another and still could not hurt Stiverne. Vitali would have knocked Stiverne out easily and would have knocked Wilder out cold. Wilder has no balance, his jab has not power, no snap, when he ran around the ring he was slow, any good fighter could have cut the ring off on him.............you can see his right hand coming from a mile away. Wilder's left hook is no good. Vlad beat him from one side of the ring to the other, knocked him down with a jab and flattened him with a left hook. Wilder is not in Vlad's class. Compare...................I compared them, Vlad has great balance, much more power, better defense, etc. Vlad wants to fight Wilder ASAP, but Wilder does not want to fight him. Here is a red flag; Why did Wilder get paid more than Stiverne? Why did Stiverne not have a rematch clause? How did Wilder get ranked without fighting a ranked fighter? Arreola was beating the **** out of Stiverne, hurt him, until Stiverne landed a lucky punch that Arreola did not see coming. Stiverne did not even try to beat Wilder, or cut off the ring on the slow moving Wilder. Wilder's power disappeared when he fought Stiverne. Vlad is not Stiverne and Wilder knows it.

I think a belt sells it to many of the casuals on here, rather than the opposition. I didnt see it as a massive win for Wilder in the HW scheme of things, but it did show that Wilder could go 12 rounds and box to a plan.

The one and only thing that proved is that Wilder can somehow fight on the back foot and understand he needs to use the jab.

    Nothing else.
Stiverne didn't land a single clean shot, and even when some heavy slap reached Wilder, he clearly had effect.

Low pace, low workrate, still a fragile chin, and most importantly,
-it proved that Wilder has no power.

Stiverne was a zombie, sweating, no breath, no pop, no reflexes, no defence, and yet Wilder couldn't stop him.

Is Demetrice King the most powerful boxer ever, for stopping Stiverne in just 4 rounds?

Arreola would have stopped that version of Stiverne.

All it proved was that he could protect me when facing an ailing and limited opponent.

Wilder's still packing those fragile whiskers....I should know!

For me Wilder still has a lot to prove but he put in a good performance against Stiverne regardless of how good or bad he is. I think the hate Wilder gets is down to some of our American friends constantly deriding anyone who isn't American, but for those in the know and who appreciate boxing and boxers from anywhere in the world then Wilder's tests start from hereon. I don't think he'll ever be a great or unify the titles, but he ain't no bum and will continue to surprise many for now and I for one look forward in seeing how he progresses in his next fight.
