I would think if you beat the best, then you are the best. But then again, you cant have it both ways. If a HW knocked out the p4p king, it wouldnt mean anything for the HW because, he was supposed to win it anyways.

P4P in short, means beating the best possible fighters over the longest period of time, sometimes, against men of higher weight classes and abilities. Least that is how I look at it.

Ricky's friends enjoy laughing at him behind his back. His innocent, simple minded ways always puts a smile on my face in this overly serious world we live in.

No they don't you liar. Many of his friends are my friends and I know pretty much everyone Ricky knocks around with, or has ever knocked around with from round our way and you are just talking bollocks.

Why would you just make something up like that? To sound interesting? To sound like you know something?

    No need mate.

I wouldn't have minded if you had said "I bet Ricky's friends....". I may well have joined in the joke with you but making stuff up really annoys me on here. Some people on these forums have designed a complete character and personality for Ricky. They have just decided on this character because, for whatever reason, they don't like him. So their agenda is to belittle him and try and make as many people think that what they say is true.

Fact is, it couldn't be further from the truth! Betty Swollocks (dunno if you have seen his posts yet, a fellow country man of yours) is the very worst at this. He just completely ****ing lies about Ricky, claiming all sorts in a pathetic hope of belittling his achievements and his standing outside the ring.

Luckily though, everyone knows how demented that cretin is.

EDIT: Also, he's far from simple minded. I know he does sound a bit daft at times (like using the CK in a word instead of TT, like "lickle", or "bockle". ie, "who's is that lickle bockle of beer on the manckle piece?" But many people round here speak like that. Yes, I do live in one of the most culturally, intelligently impoverished areas of the UK;)) and he can say silly things but he honestly is a relatively intelligent feller. I don't just mean relative to the sport he is in, neither. You would probably be surprised if you had a decent chat with him.

EDIT: Anyway, unless you try and claim otherwise, I am going to give you the benefit of the doubt and believe that you meant to start that sentence off with "I bet Rick's friends enjoy...".

Thanks for the kind words. This is the only account I have but I've been a loyal ESB fan for longer than I've had an account. I don't post so much because I feel way too many boxers get disrespected on this forum. How is the sport supposed to garner new fans when half the die-hards think 90% of fighters are bums? I don't care what people say about Ricky's style, he brings it every fight, he always makes weight, and he cares about his fans. What more can be expected of a fighter? If they all fought the same I doubt the sport would be as exciting as it is.

Ohh. How smarmy. How smug. But in the real World you can't attempt to win a debate like that. Doesn't work. Especially as you had no case to begin with and all you did was suggest that you know how Ricky's social circle treat him.

So. Any chance you can let us know exactly what case you have rested?

P4P was created for Sugar Ray Robinson saying that weight is irrelevent then overall skill, power, and excitement are the definition of the best boxer currently. As far as Ricky saying he'll be the P4P best he's got a point. With Mayweather retired as of right now, (I know he's coming out soon) but as of this writing no opponent has been selected and he hasnt won yet. I would put Manny Pacquiao at the top of the list right now. So there.
