How has the change in boxing glove size over the years effected boxing from a technical standpoint?

I think folk on here just like to show off their knowledge, I doubt gloves used back in the day would turn a Provodnikov into a Mayweather. I doubt it's changed fighters styles at all even though it's easier to defend with bigger gloves.

One point that nobody as mentioned is how much stamina the modern larger gloves zap out of a fighter.....

 

Thanks. Interesting writeup although he doesn't seem to really think through some of the tactical reasons for modern boxers moving away from some of the tactics and emphases of the past.
