A lot. Just like NY roots for the Yankees and Boston for their Red Sox, I want my fighters to do good. However I don't hype them more than I should. And I'm aware of whatever weaknesses or limitations they might have. I don't blindly bet on them or assume they gonna win just because they are from my country. Good example Cotto... Used to be a big fan of him but he starting to get on my nerves as of late. What's funny I used to defend him when people in Puerto Rico used to badmouth him. But I get it now.
Being Chicano, it's great to see a Mexican, Mexican-American, American, and latinos do good. When watching the World Cup, once Mexico and USA get booted out, family goes for Brazil, Argentina, or Spain. But there are some special and great athletes and teams that even tho they aren't from your neck of the woods, you have to give them admiration and respect. That's why Ali everywhere he goes they love him, Erik Morales is respected among hardcore fans anywhere he steps foot, GGG an eastern European is the 2nd coming of Mantequilla Napoles. When your local fighter is fighting a great international fighter and the locals also applaud the visitor, that's respect, the fans know who that is. Only fools or newbs that dksab would boo a great visiting fighter.
0% and I don't understand why that would influence anybody at all. Only someone with nothing else to be proud of would be proud of something that wasn't their doing, like being of a certain race or nationality.
Usa #1. Deal with it! :deal The worst fans on this board are those who pretend to be unbiased. You're just lying to yourselves. I appreciate other fighters, but hell yeah I identify most with fighters from my country.
I don't support a fighter based on his country. It is his skills and performance in and out of the ring that matters to me.
