People talked about the size difference between Loma and Linares, but Benavidez looked way bigger against Crawford than Linares did against Loma. I also noticed that Crawford couldn't really physically bully him like he did to Horn. If Crawford can't physically contain a Porter, Porter could give him a lot of issues.

He was big and long. Crawford had a hard time trying to get in on the inside for the first 6 rounds. That shows alot about Benevidez preparation going into the fight. He certainly didnt gfight the way the odds reflected which was 30-1. Certain people thought he was going to get whipped. I didn't see that at all.

I didn't either. I was going to make a post saying Benavidez fights to his level. He's sparred with Manny when he was 16 ffs. I mean Crawford was easily up 8-3 at worst, and even arguably 11-0, but Crawford didn't really start dominating till the 5th or 6th. Benavidez definitely did a good job with his jab and countering Crawford coming in on the inside in the beg. But what impressed me the most is when Crawford got inside he couldn't bully Benavidez. Benavidez seemed as strong.

Crawford seemed stronger to me in the clinches. I think he was the stronger fighter last night.

If he was stronger it wasn't really noticeable. I remember in one instance Crawford tried to bully Benavidez on the ropes and Benavidez just shoved him off and caught him with a right hand after the push. Crawford bullied and beat the **** out of Horn who I perceived as physically stronger than Benavidez.

I look at what happens in the middle of the ring. They clinched and Crawford walked him to the ropes. Crawford is a lot stronger then he looks. I would bet that Benavidez had at least 10 pounds on him.

First time I've seen Crawford in with someone who was bigger than him (weight wise).

Crawford was coming in heavier than Benavidez when they were both down at 140, if these fight night weights of Benavidez's are anything to go by. And Crawford's lightest recorded weight when he was down at lightweight is only 1lb less than what Benavidez weighed against Herrera and his heaviest at that weight was the same as what Benavidez weighed against Paez.

    Herrera: Official: 139.5 - Unofficial: 154
    Benavidez: Official: 138.5 - Unofficial: 150

    Benavidez: Official: 139 - Unofficial: 153
    Paez: Official 140 - Unofficial: 150

However, I think Benavidez definitely looked bigger than Crawford last night up at 147.

    He lost nearly every round
    One judge had it 11-0
The other 2 gave Benavidez 2 rounds only lol
And he got cracked and stopped
    Odds should have been 40-1

But Benavidez wanted to fight on the ropes? I look at what both fighters can do in the clinch. Benavidez got Crawford off him when he wanted to.

I thought Benavidez won the 2nd pretty clearly. At first I thought Crawford won it due to angles but in slow-mo you could see Crawford getting caught twice with shots on the chin jumping in. That's worth more than the body work bud did. That was the only clear Benavidez round for me.

He was competitive in every round. Getting whipped is what he did to horn and indongo. Wrong again.

And you know the judges are full of bologna since their cards neever coincide with yours.. lol..

You made it seem like benevidez didn't belong, and that proved to be a big overstatement.lol

Benavidez wanted to counter off the ropes because he was getting trashed in the center of the ring. Crawford didn’t really want to fight Benavidez on the ropes so he really didn’t try to press the action there. Crawford looked like the stronger fighter to me.

    Spence was 156 against Ocampo

He was 162 against Lo Greco but that was a catchweight fight above the welterweight limit

    Thurman was 162 against Guerrero

    And 156 against Chaves

    Horn was 155 against Crawford

Crawford was 157 down at 140 over 2 years ago

And I think he was at least 162 against Horn

    Per his S&C coach

''We've trained harder since his last fight, putting more weight on him - good weight - putting some more muscle on him, and just getting him bigger, because we've always know he was going to have to move up in weight eventually, so that was a big part of it - just getting him heavier''

''He has easily put on 10lbs of muscle all the while by maintaining speed and athleticism.''

^^^ this is after he was coming in at 157 down at 140

Crawford was 153 against Beltran at 135

Just 3lbs lighter than Spence was against Ocampo and 2 lighter than Horn was against Crawford

I reckon Crawford weighed at the very least 162-163 against Benavidez and the later was closer to 170
