He is more hard worker than talented. Amir Khan is better than him but he must learn to be productive. The British would have won the fight without even boxing his best but he got robbed with that useless second count.
Peterson fought more credible opponents recently than the loudmouths!!! very good fighter, but even bigger guts.
i always liked him from his friday night fight days...he is either the number one or two guy at the weight....i think he beats maidana, can beat Khan again, Mattyse aint all that and Alexander and Bradley have moved up....if he gets past Khan id favor him over the rest he is a good all around...not special at one thing, reminds me of a 140 pound Holyfield who will have his greats wins because of will, not skill there are guys faster, better boxers, or guys that hit harder but dude fights his heart out....watch the Bradley fight he gets hurt and wobbles and dont take a backward step and keeps digging deep...i love his relationship with his coach...if he keeps his determination with his overall skill set he could be a champion for a while at 140, at 147 it will be very hard...Pac-Man, Maidana, Alexander, Floyd, Berto, Ortiz, Khan will be moving up soon, Bradley has man 147 is gonna be the ****
khan dont hit that hard, Peterson has a very good defense and a decent chin and Khan dont sit down on his punches....get ready for another 12 rounder neither guy is a puncher....
I scored the Ortiz draw to Ortiz by 2 points. I scored the Khan fight to Khan by 2 points. I think he loses to JMM, Bradley, Matthysse, and Maidana as well as the Khan rematch, and give him 50/50-ish one way or the other odds with Garcia, Alvarado, Soto, and Judah. At the moment, despite all of my above opinion, he absolutely deserves to be ranked #2 at JWW behind only Bradley.
the crazy thing is because he is just a good all arounder he will never be the favorite but honestly i dont see anyone dominating him...he is just one of those guys who is gonna have to pull of his big wins digging deep because he doesnt excel at one thing still one of my favorite junior welters....i knew he'd win a belt watching him way back on espn in his early days....he is smart enough to have tweeked his style and adapt to who is in front of him...he will continue to improve dude is hungry and humble...dude has the right attitude to succeed
I think he beats Alexander and Maidana pretty clearly. I'm not sure about Matthysse and Khan (again) and I really feel Bradley would still beat him, perhaps it would be closer in a rematch though. But as has been stated, due to the boys heart and conditioning, he definitely has the potential to pull through in almost any fight in the LWW-WW division. If he had good enough punching power to effect the bigger guys in the WW division, he'd be a serious problem.
i totally agree...if he had more power he'd make some noise at welter....moving up may help him....Alexander seems to be sitting on his shots more and throwing with more power not weight draining and Maidana is a tough SOB and he hurt em good a few times to the head and body
