The same can be said about alot of fighters! But a puncher is a puncher and one who lets the shots go is always dangerous just take Wilder in mind dangerous at any second in a bout.. Reckless yes,, wild yes,,, effective yes!!

Hagler was fantastic. He definitely belongs in the ATG conversation. The man had an aura about him. He'd be a force in any era.

Can’t have the atg conversation without mentioning his name...
Undisputed middleweight champion for 6 years...
    Absolutely love the guy
Also the absolute king of the training montage

My favorite fighter of all time. He was an excellent boxer that was much more than just a pressure type of fighter. Greatest southpaw IMO.

His story is pretty amazing. Him turning pro early, going through very rough fights early on in his career, getting passed over for title shots that entire decade until the very end, getting robbed in his first title shot, getting beer bottles thrown at him after winning the title overseas, etc.

At that juncture, from early 1980 until about mid to late 1982 is a very dominant fighter who was still in his prime. He had accrued enough pro experience combined with a tough path to get to the title that made him indestructible in that 2 year period. From 1980-1982, you'd have to probably render him unconscious to rip the title from him. I wouldn't favor a single MW against him in a match at his peak (I'd give 50/50 odds at best to any MW.) That guys chin and his will to win (especially in his peak,) was something to behold.

Top 20 for me. He'd be much higher if there was a deeper MW talent pool during his absolute prime in the late 70's/early 80's. Unfortunately his biggest scalps come from smaller guys who made their way up to 160.

Top 5 at MW and you could argue his position there all the way up to #2. I have Greb at #1 MW and don't really see anybody deposing him.

Marvin's up there with the best in middleweight history alongside Robinson, Greb, Monzon and maybe another one or two names.

Hagler has a good claim to be in the top 3 MW ever.
